Thank you for your interest in my brand. I will assume that you’ve landed here because you share my need for nature, adventure and being happy. Perhaps you too feel there just has to be a more simple & wholesome way to treat your beautiful face as you prepare for your day. I’m only 9 but still feel sick from all the WORRY: Worry about too much sun, worry about not getting enough vitamin D, worry about the dangerous chemicals in the lotions Mom & Dad want to use to protect me. Well, fortunately for me my dad forgot to pack sunblock for our ski trip to Colorado. And since there was no sunblock staring him in the face he forgot it was needed, even though Mom reminded him not to forget. Oops. So we hit the slopes naked. Well, not really naked. Just not covered in all that sticky junk. But it was a very sunny day. Apparently the sun reminded Dad not to forget the sunblock he’d forgotten. Oops again! But it was too late. We were on the slopes. He mentioned the matter to my BFF Maren who has lived in Colorado her whole life. She just said “No worries, Lake, follow me.” Maren then led me to the nearest Aspen tree (which in Colorado are always nearby) and rubbed her hands on the tree. She then showed me the powder on her hands and said “Now lets cover your pretty little face up”. I know you are wondering, so let me just tell you:YES! It worked. And the best part is my face felt so good. It felt really happy. And smooth too.
Turns out, the bark of the Aspen tree makes a wonderful natural… Oh, right. I have to turn this over to the grown ups for a moment:
Well, let’s just call it a “natural atmospheric inhibitor and inflammation controller”. Aspen bark extract is derived from the Quaking Aspen tree common to northern and western North America. For centuries, Native American Indians have used Aspen tree bark for various medicinal purposes, from sun protection to treating burns to reducing fevers to relieving eczema. The bark is rich in salycin, an aspirin-like substance, which is considered to be an analgesic, it offers anti-inflammatory, calming, and healing characteristics. The same compounds that function as the plant's natural defense mechanism from invading parasites, such as mold and yeast, demonstrate preservative properties in cosmetic formulations. Aspen bark extract has been shown to effectively inhibit the growth of mold, yeast, e coli and others. And it has the added benefit of imparting a silky and smooth feeling when applied to skin.
Thanks Dad. And Thank You Maren for teaching me about the wonders of the Aspen Tree and in so doing, planting this Brand Building seed in my head. Anyway, I sure hope you try and love Aspen Alternatives Forest-to-Face Skincare. All the best
